1. Introduction
Bill Barron Labs, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the LoadSites mobile application (the "App"). LoadSites is a WebView-based browser for iOS and Android that renders containerized web applications (CWA) built with standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. By using LoadSites, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information collected automatically:
- Device Information: When a containerized web app requests the "device" permission and you approve it, the App may access your device platform, model, OS version, and manufacturer. This information stays on your device and is only shared with the specific web app you authorized.
- Network Status: When a web app requests the "network" permission and you approve it, the App may access your connectivity type (Wi-Fi, cellular, or offline). This information is not transmitted externally.
Information collected with your permission:
LoadSites uses an explicit permission system. Before installing any containerized web app, you are shown the full list of permissions it requests. You must approve these permissions before the app is installed. The following data may be accessed only after your explicit approval:
- Location Data: GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, accuracy) when the "geolocation" permission is granted.
- Camera and Photos: Photo capture and gallery access when the "camera" permission is granted. Images are returned as data within the web app and are not sent to our servers.
- Microphone: Audio recording when the "microphone" permission is granted.
- Biometric Data: Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint authentication when the "biometrics" permission is granted. Biometric data is processed entirely on your device by the operating system and is never accessed or stored by LoadSites.
- Clipboard: Read and write access to your system clipboard when the "clipboard" permission is granted.
- Push Notification Tokens: If a web app uses the "notifications" permission and you approve it, a device-specific push notification token is generated. This token may be shared with the web app developer's server to deliver push notifications via Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
3. Information We Do Not Collect
LoadSites itself does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Financial or payment information
- Browsing history or usage analytics
- Advertising identifiers
- Contacts, calendar data, or call logs
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs within the LoadSites container application.
4. Local Data Storage
LoadSites stores data locally on your device, including:
- App Manifests: Metadata about installed containerized web apps (name, version, author, icon, permissions).
- App Bundles: Downloaded web app content (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and assets) stored locally for offline use.
- App-Scoped Storage: Key-value data stored by individual web apps through the "storage" permission. This data is sandboxed per app (scoped to the app's domain and ID) and cannot be accessed by other installed web apps.
All locally stored data remains on your device and is not synced to external servers by LoadSites.
5. Third-Party Web Apps
LoadSites is a platform that hosts third-party containerized web applications. Each web app is developed and maintained by its own developer. These third-party web apps may:
- Make network requests to their own servers or external APIs.
- Collect and transmit data according to their own privacy policies.
- Include their own analytics or tracking if they choose to do so.
LoadSites does not control, monitor, or intercept the network activity of installed web apps. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of individual web apps before installing them. You can always review what permissions a web app requires before installation.
6. Push Notifications
If a web app uses push notifications and you grant the "notifications" permission:
- A device-specific notification token is generated on your device.
- The web app developer may send this token to their own server.
- Notifications are routed through the LoadSites Cloud relay service and delivered via Apple APNs or Google FCM.
- We do not read, store, or analyze the content of push notifications beyond what is necessary to deliver them.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect information processed through LoadSites:
- WebView Sandboxing: Each web app runs in an isolated native WebView sandbox (WKWebView on iOS, WebView on Android).
- Permission Enforcement: Every request from a web app to access device features is validated against the permissions you approved at installation.
- Storage Isolation: Data stored by one web app cannot be accessed by any other web app.
- No Executable Code: App bundles contain only web assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts). No native binary code is allowed.
- Secure Communication: App manifests and bundles are downloaded over HTTPS.
8. Children's Privacy
LoadSites is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through a web app installed via LoadSites, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following choices regarding your data:
- Permissions: You can review the permissions of any installed web app before installation. You can uninstall any web app at any time to revoke its permissions.
- Local Data: You can delete locally stored data by uninstalling individual web apps or by uninstalling the LoadSites app entirely.
- Notifications: You can disable push notifications through your device's system settings at any time.
- Device Permissions: You can revoke camera, microphone, location, and other system permissions through your device's settings.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
